Howdy,
I’m Van!
I’m a work in progress…
“Passion is a kind of alienation; it is getting out of yourself and peeking into the outer space of sanity, where there are brilliant comets but also a terrifying blackness”
Translation from Rosa Montero in her book “El peligro de estar cuerda”
I’m Vanesa, but my friends call me Van. I’m a biologist and a veterinarian, but my studies focus on ecology and zoology. I’m passionate about wildlife and the rigorous academic structure that studies or researches them. My main topic of research is animal movement ecology.
I created this website to share experience and knowledge about wildlife and its observers, enthusiasts, and researchers. My main goal is to connect with people who have the same passion and interest as mine and thus be able to develop a community in which we can interact.
“This is my grain of sand to help with what I know for whoever is willing to receive.”
I hope to reach that goal with you. Very welcome!
My stages in life around the world !
I’ve had the extraordinary privilege of living through various stages of my life across the globe, each place offering its own unique lessons and experiences. Born in the vibrant and diverse landscapes of Bolivia, I was cradled in a culture rich with history and tradition. My journey then took me to the United States, where I embarked on my first professional project, immersing myself in a dynamic and fast-paced environment that challenged and expanded my perspectives.
Continuing my academic pursuits, I ventured to Brazil to complete my master’s degree. There, I was enveloped in the warmth of Brazilian hospitality and the pulsating rhythms of its culture, which deeply influenced my approach to life and learning. The next chapter of my journey led me to Wales for part of my doctorate. In the rolling hills and historic towns of Wales, I found a profound sense of community and a deep appreciation for the intertwining of history and modernity.
Each of these experiences has been a building block in my life, not only enhancing my professional journey but also deepening my understanding of the world. Living in such diverse corners of the globe has allowed me to appreciate the richness of our human tapestry, teaching me invaluable lessons about life, resilience, and the beauty of our shared human experience
